Welcome to Starkiller: The Jedi Bendu Script Site.

The Jedi Bendu is a group of devoted fans who collect and treasure the original drafts and shooting scripts of the Star Wars saga. Formed in 1995 by “old-timers” who remembered the halcyon days of 1977, the Jedi Bendu have managed to collect a vast array of material pertaining to the greatest modern myth of movie making—and we are happy to share this with you. From this site you can read and download the early drafts and original shooting scripts, see the spectacular pre-production art of Ralph McQuarrie and Alex Tavoularis, read discerning essays and articles about the Star Wars saga, and if you like, you can directly participate with your own artwork and texts by submitting them to us for review.

This is, in part, the Jedi Bendu missive:

  • To pursue and find (photocopies of) early drafts and screenplays of the original trilogy (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi) and the prequel trilogy (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith).
  • To pursue and find (photocopies of) storyboards from the aforementioned films, by such artists as Alex Tavoularis, Ivor Beddoes, Irvin Kershner, Joe Johnston et al.
  • To pursue and find (copies of) rare photographs or film clips detailing cut scenes or angles not normally shown in the films themselves.
  • To pursue and find (copies of) blueprints, floor plans, call sheets etc. from the films.

Our activity is purely non-profit. We are doing this out of our love and respect for Star Wars. However, we do feel that the official publications seldom live up to the expectations their luscious covers offer. If our endeavors will prompt Lucasfilm’s publishing department to take action in this regard, then our efforts have not been in vain. Still, we are happy if everyday fans and movie aficionados like our work. If you want to support the Jedi Bendu, do not hesitate to contact us.
